The second rule was not my idea. I've thought that only generals will not take part. I could place you in reserve list.

If you meant the second rule, you can take part in this tournament.

Ladies and Gentlemen.
This tournament is specially for the new players!

I.e. nither the developers (Vadim, Tiger, Victor, etc.) are NOT taking part.
So, the participants will be fighting against more or less equal opponents.

hmm seems like people registering for tournament very slowly
that's odd considering like 150 registered users in online list
(50 of which were active last week)
maybe they do not know about tournament? is there way to notify registered users via email maybe?

On the contrary: I am surprised that 9 have already registered! :)

People are not that self-confident, yet.

I predict about 30 participants in all.

If that turns out right, it would make sense to have only 4 groups, but let the first TWO in each group advance.

The advantage being that you are not immediately screwed if you happen to be in the same group as Morton HQ. :D

Did the MA staff send out an email to their list for this tournament? Or has it just been in the forums? I know I for one have never really kept up with the forums with any game as much as I have for this one, so I'm sure there are people that could be interested in it that haven't found out because they don't keep up with the forums. We've only got another week for three times as many as have signed up so far to join in...

I disagree with your Math on this. :D We have two weeks, and we will be fine, if two times as many as have signed up so far join in...

I'm with you. I don't think people have noticed that there's a tournement. Might be a good idea to pass the word via comments in your games to those you haven't registered yet.

No reason for anyone not to play. What's the worst that can happen?

Youґre practically reading my thoughts, Maelstrom. Thatґs why I cunningly 8) suggested to let the first TWO in each group advance.
