I agree with Tiger's rules. Of course I wouldn't mind a change from Anubis and Noble, Wasserland is a very interesting map as well, and we won't have played it at all in this tournament. But I'll go with whatever the final decision is.

I don't want to increase number of battles, but we can change map for one pair of battle.
For example:

2 pairs are randomly selected out of 4 1/4 winners. Each pair plays 4 games (again, switching sides) on Wasserland and Anubis planets.

or

2 pairs are randomly selected out of 4 1/4 winners. Each pair plays 4 games (again, switching sides) on Noble Rust and Wasserland planets.

What do you prefer?

I change map for the semi-finals battles.
Each pair plays 4 games (again, switching sides) on Wasserland and Anubis planets.
All battles will be created shortly.
Don't forget that now we have new main factor for the tie-break:
The total number of turns (the winner is the player that achieved the win in the fewer number of turns).

Maelstrom: Just to let you know, I am on holiday this week and so far I am not having much success at getting on-line to play turns: The airline has yet to bother to deliver my luggage! I'll post here later in the week if the situation improves but in all probability, the next turn will not be until Saturday - apologies!

Well the weary troops are heading home after two successful campaigns on Anubis.

One thing that occurs to me that we did not think about with the least turns rule is the situation where one player wins both on Anubis and the other player wins both on Wasserland!!! Under the least turns rule, the player winning both on Anubis is almost certain to win since that map is much quicker.

That is a perverse result since clearly Wasserland is the more difficult map. I suggest an addendum to the rule so that it only applies where players win one each on the maps. Where both players win twice on the same map, the winner on the larger map should win (i.e. if Mael beats me both times on Wasserland he certainly deserves to be the winner).

It appears that game 4447 is broken for me. It is appearing in both my current turns and my waiting for turns tabs. Weird! Looks like Rock just finished that one anyways though so that doesnt matter much. Just want to make sure he gets the rank points for the victory.

I can see your point, but I don't agree that I should automatically be declared winner if I win Wasserland. Rocklizard has utterly destroyed me on Anubis, and I feel his is the better player (right now! I keep learning! :D).

In our matches as I see it, 1 of the Anubis victories was through Rocklizard's raw skill with an even setup, and the other was his through his skill as well as for his slightly better setup. Right now we have one on Wasserland that could possibly still go both ways, and another that I have the distinct advantage, and will probably win shortly.

I believe that Rocklizard has proven his is more highly skilled in the game, which with the purpose of the tournament being to find the best player, I feel he should move on.

**Geez what am I saying... Rock almost gave me a possibility of a underserved win, why do my honesty circuits scream so loud! :P

We hope to play out the remaining two matches, but outside the tournament.

Hi,

I didn't understand, what's happen with semi-finals battles between Pitor and Enforcer. Two battles were not finished, but players didn't send any bound during 5 and 8 days

If I understand the posts correctly and from what Enforcer said during the IM conference, he has conceded defeat to Pitor so the final should be Pitor vs me and the third place play-off should be Enforcer vs Maelstrom.

I appreciate that Maelstrom is away at the moment but please could we start the games anyway? The games on New Paradise will take a long time to complete and probably all of us will be on holiday during the coming weeks so there are bound to be more hold-ups.

Where is this patch? I have patched the latest patch and downloaded the Brimstone Map but when I try and play a Brimstone game on multi-player via MA the last bar on the loading screen will not complete and the game hangs. there are no problems playing Brimstone via MAN (but my version is now out of date and I have not yet worked out from where I am supposed to download the latest version!!!)
