There is patch with Brimstone for MA too :)

Where is this patch? I have patched the latest patch and downloaded the Brimstone Map but when I try and play a Brimstone game on multi-player via MA the last bar on the loading screen will not complete and the game hangs. there are no problems playing Brimstone via MAN (but my version is now out of date and I have not yet worked out from where I am supposed to download the latest version!!!)

Patch with map:
http://www.massiveassault.com/download/ ... mstone.exe
if you can't play, you could try the following:
delete file
.../data/scripts/stratup.lua
and install map again.

regarding mine and pitor's games, i wa about to lose 2 so surrendered them and as it's the person who wins 2/4 fastest i coiuldn't win as other 2 are far from over, so i have in theory lost that round, and hence we can start the last 1 :)

Best of luck to all.

Are there any thoughts about a 2nd tourney?

No problem, thanks for letting me know.

I have submitted my starting postions and opening move as Red.

Tiger: Do you want us to post replays every now and again, if so where - I doubt many people read this thread very often?

Re the second tournament, MWigor has a good suggestion for running a Swiss tournament (much the same way as they do for large chess tournaments where a knock is not really appropriate and there are too many players for an all play all league). I will encourage him to send his suggestion in directly.

To Pitor,

Thank you very much. They are both great battles and although they are far from over, it is true that I have a big advantage in the number of troops - although they are not always in the right place, particularly in the game where I am PL.

I was lucky with my starting layouts though, particularly with PL - where none of territories were threated early on.

I am away from Saturday for two weeks so will play one a turn a day on each game as usual untill then but look forward to finishing the battles off when I get back.

Well, I finally surrendered on both games vs RockLizard.
Even if was not very lucky in my relative position and initial deployment, Rocklizard really deserves this win as he plays these maps very well and he's a very strong player :P
Im still glad to end at the second place of the tournament as I didn't expected that when I started this tournament. There are a lot of very skilled players who could pretend this place and I was lucky to arrive to this place instead of them. Im sure the next tournament will be very challenging

Now some details about my initial position (this could interest principally Rocklizard  ). In the game where I played PL, the initial situation was catastrophic. I had 3 undisclosed adjacent allies in the north and two of them were invaded in the first turn. As I knew I didn't had any chance without the revenues of these allies, I decided to take my chance and to reveal the middle (3$) allie which wasn't invaded yet. Unfortunately, Rock revealed a new allie close to this one and he could capture this allie very fast. After that, all was said...
In the game where I played FNU, the situation was slightly better but I still had a 3$ SA invaded in the first turn and a second one which was directly threatened. I decided to reveal this one to slow down Rock as behind this allie, there was a 4$ neutral country. In the same region , I had a another undisclosed SA which was invaded pretty fast. I just couldn't hold this region very long and so all this area was under Rock's control. Once he gets the 4$ neutral country, the balance of forces became too inequal and the game was already over.
But apart from these bad initial positions, rock played very nicely and he was winning on all fronts... So, once again, congratulations to you Rock :D

Our congratulations, Rocklizard!
You are the winner of the tournament.
Please, select any one of the following games as a prize: (Korsun Pocket, Squad Assault, Highway to the Reich).

Congratulations to Pitor! He is the second place winner and will select any game from the remaining two.

I hope we'll know the third place winner in the nearest future.

The war is finally at an end! The next turn by enforcer will determine the match. I have just beat him at turn 24 as PL, but he is close to winning as PL in the other game, and is about to play his 24th turn. If he does win in that turn we'll have to arbitrate the games. If he doesn't manage to get 300% this turn I will win by # of turns.

i've failed to win on turn 24, so congratulations to Maelstrom, finally after almost 2 months he's claimed 3rd place (by a turn or 2!!! Damnit!) Once i finally finish beating mael (won't be long) I'll post both replays. Altho it's obvious who's gonna win each one from an early stage it's interesting how each player plays defensively.

All about Delay, Delay, Delay!

In normal circumstances, I would have surrendered long ago, but with the rules as they were, it was all about delaying tactics instead where victory was impossible, contributing to the 3 months the games lasted :)

Congratulations to Maelstrom!
I'd like to see your replays and post it on the site.
I think it could be very useful in the nearest future ;)
