Anther suggestion to expand on the clan system.

Each clan puts forward 4 or 5 players in total. These can come from both the little and large wars.

Each week, each player plays one (or maybe 2) games against one other player from each clan (they don't need to be finished in a week). That could be 3 or 6 games started each week, depending on whether we play as red and green in the same week, or on seperate weeks and it would take 3 or 6 weeks plus final playing time to finish the league.

We could either base all the games on one map (and gradually work our way through them all; one league for each) or let the FNU player choose the map at the start of the week.

The clan who wins the league (and maybe the clan that win the most games in any week) could be awarded aditional credits to use in the clan war.

Atm, we are tending to find that the same players are playing each other quite often in the clan war. I think that this would be a good way to mix it up a bit. It would also be quite a good way to rank the clans.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

atm from the way the planets are changing hands no clan is even close to being able to invade a HQ planet, so not sure if this is a valid final goal atm, we may need to make it easier to invade it, or we could say 1st clan to do so wins the entire war. I'm sure everyone ahs their own ideas of how we can improve the war (beyond getting the whole thing automated) so lets get them up here so we can think about them.

One idea i ahd is scrap the capturing the hq as how you win but instead do it on points taht you gain for every enemy starting planet you own. With maybve a large nubmer of points if u manage to grab a hq, maybe kocking out the clan taht lost it completely.

Another idea could be you invade systems not planets, with the invasion cost depending on the nubmer of planets in the system. Each clan has to send enough players for there to be 1 for each planet, then the attackers picks which player atttacks which planet in the system, then the defender picks which players defend which ones, the 1st clan to win over 50% of the fights gains the entire system. With a 50/50 split going to the defender.

Anotehr idea is for the defending clan ahving to assign a defender before knowing who the invading player is. This could help stop Morton's remark aobut the same ppl playing each other over and over because they are of similar skill levels.

I quite like the idea of invading the entire system in one go.

just a suggestion but....

How about we up the number of planets in each system to 5 (maybe one of each but an odd number works best) with the total cost and income being calculated as it is at the moment. (might need to keep the available list so that clans with less than 5 players don't always asign their best players to fight 2 battles)

When a clan invades, they have to invade the entire system and win at least 50% of the fights to take it. This might be less bitty than the current war, where each clan can own part of a system.

2 of the 5 attackers could play as PL to even it up a bit. It might also be a good idea for each clan to asign their 5 players without knowing who the opponent will be (enforcers idea).

I think that the defender would still have the advantage (slightly) but perhaps not as much as just now.

This kind of incorporates the league idea above.

sounds like a good idea, but i think a random nubmer of planets between 3-7 with random planet types so you could ahve 2-3 of the same type in the same system.
