VERY nice. 8) It really clears up the confusion keeping tournament games, clan war games, and regular matches all seperated. Thanks.

Tomorrow evening will be started new round of tournament (on Bizarria).
There is some important questions:
1) The battle 629/21154 between Korvack and Exiles is marked as draw, but moderators of tournament didn't get any message from players.
Please, write to me what's happen with this game.
2) The following players didn't send any bound:
Cynic
M.W.Hoy
RedSteel
Konin
Fraggler
Uuldahan
TugMcGroin
diepeep
NOD
Farvat
ant
Oko
xzanth (didn't send his bound in the battle 651/21132)
I'll send message to them and if they didn't reply during one day, we'll finish their battles as victory of their opponents and delete them from tournament.

3) JOCAMP has problem with computer, so he couldn't play. I hope he start his battles this week.

4) Wanderer can't make any turns until Tuesday 15th June.

What will happen to games where one player just doesn't move (in my second Emerald game, my opponent has only made one move so far)? Will this be counted as a defeat at some point for the non-moving player?

At the moment we are being quite lenient - the tournament rules do specify a turn limit of 5 days though - so if anyone exceeds this then they are at risk of having the game count as a loss.

Note though that there are still 10 weeks to go in the tournament - so there is plenty of time.

Uuldahan sent me message that he can't take part in this tournament (too much work).
He will be removed from list of players and his opponents get victory.

I have a quick question about the way points are allocated:

2 points for a win
1 point for a battle in progress
0 points for a loss

Is there a limit to how long a game can continue? Seems like you can rack up some points just by being really slow to play your turns. For example, if it takes player A three weeks to lose on Emerald, and player B one week to win, player A comes out ahead. Even if player A's game lasted for only 5 turns, but player B's went on for 15.

Isn't there an exploit possible in this, i.e. take 5 days to play each turn to get the most points out of each game?

P.S. Go Rosehead! From 88th place to 16th in one week, right on.

It is not good idea to delay bounds. In the any case, you can't get more points than 2 for one battle. All battles should be finished until end of tournaments (11 weeks after start).

Okay. Care to explain why not? :D Seems to me that you could guarantee 2 points in each game just by taking your time with your turns. (I'm not saying that's what people should do...I was hoping there'd be a good reason why it wouldn't work.)

Okay, that only limits the winner to 2 points though. The loser can still get 2 points just by making the game take 2 weeks. Perhaps we should amend the rules to limit the number of "in-progress" points to 1 per game?

It is one point per game for outstanding games.

Starbounder,

You don't get one point per week. The one point is "temporary," meaning that once the game is won or lost, you get your final total.

So, if I don't finish a game this week, I have 1 point in terms of calculating my score for next week's match-ups. If I win the game next week, I'll end up with two points for that game. If I lose, I'll have zero points for that game. If I'm still not finished, I'll stay at one point.

Does that make sense?

Sorry if this rule wasn't clear - Groucho's interpretation of the rule is perfect.
