If you plan to organize team for this tournament, you can create special topic to find other players from your country and to choose Captain.

You are correct. 6 people on a team.

not to be difficult,, but can a single country sponsor multiple teams and who decides on the team, the senior player?

Post subject:

"If there are more then 6 players for a single country, they can create another extra teams, but each player can fight only for one team."

This is from the tournament rules.

Where there are more than 6 people from a country - they can form teams themselves.

However it doesn't matter if you don't as we will form teams for those who don't

Will we know which team we are matched up against before we submit the maps that we do not want to play on? Or will we have to submit the maps without knowing that?

I agree the rule posted is ambiguous (I did not write the final version).

My intention was that after the draw was made, Captains would submit for each match their line-up and their vetos

Obviously, :), the lineup will have to come after vetos are done.

No - line-up is different to battle allocation.

The sequence (in my mind at least) is as follows. All stages happen simultaneously to the independent moderator.

1. Captains submit list of players who are playing in match. (Unneccesary for teams of only 6 players - but we may need to have some teams of 7)
2. Captains submit vetos
3. Captains allocated players to battles.
4. Battles are started

NB. It is important for 1 to happen before 2 in my mind - as I might want to veto Anubis if Tiger is playing - but Wasserland if Fellor is playing.

I dunno...if I were a captain, I'd be more likely to veto New Paradise if Fellor was playing

I agree...I meant allocating players to battles not the match. So we are seeing eye to eye on this. As if it would matter if I disagreed. :)

Post subject:  Two questions

Is there a deadline for selecting a captain and team name?
You've created two groups of teams, but it doesn't tell anything about the format of the tourney. Can you write us a little more?

And one more question: Is it possible to create a separate forum and usergroup for each team of the Championship (like it's done for the clan war)? It's much better to discuss tournament issues in private space than in open-to-all forum.

Post subject:  Format of Tourney and other matters

Hi all,

Firstly: If you don't like the format or anything else about the tournament - then that is my fault so blame me. But - if you enjoy it - then thank Peter - as it was his idea to have the tournament.

I imagine it will be possible to create a private forum for your team - but please speak to a dev (not me).

All submissions mentioned from here on should be made to me at mwigor@yahoo.com.au - I will make sure that the Team GB decisions are taken by Rocklizard before I check any messages. If at any stage a submission is not made - I will do your submission for you (randomly). After each submission deadline has passed I will post all decisions.

The first stage will last FOUR weeks (change from rules).

Each team will play one match against every other team in their group.

By Friday 17th September (9am UK time) each captain must submit their line-up for each match in the group stage. This is only really important for the teams of 7. Who should rest four different players for their four matches.

By Friday 17th September (5.30pm UK time) each captain should submit for each match their two vetos of planets (if you want to veto different planets for different matches that is fine just make it clear in your e-mail).

Captains will then have the weekend to discuss with their team who will play PL/FNU on each planet - remember that each player must play 3 battles in each match.

Submission of battle allocation for each match must be made by Monday 20th September (9am UK time). Tiger and I will then start the battles at some point on Monday. All battles will have 3 day turn limit.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. With group winners playing the runners-up of the other group.

Good luck all.

If you have any questions about the format please post them here and I will attempt to help. Sorry if anything is not clear. (Please look at the rules first though).

Cheers, mwigor.

Post subject:

why are we vetoing 2 planets? thought each team veto'd 1 planet leaving 9 planets to fight over?

Author:  mwigor [ Wed Sep 15, 2004 8:10 am ]
Post subject:

To clarify the vetoing situation.

Each team vetos 1 planet leaving 9 for the match.
If both teams veto the same planet then one of the second vetos is selected at random.
