I think that the right to finish battle should be granted to moderators ONLY, not players. Because moderator is always informed about delays, he has a list of delayed battles and we all entrust him. He can also warn players about time out before finishing battle (as it was in 1st International Tournament).
If players may finish battles themselves, there can be abuse of this right and time-outed battles with good reason can be finished :(
May we then claim that the winners are the most skilled players indeed?

That's a very fair solution Norat, but as a clan war moderator, I can tell you that that is a LOT of extra work for the mods.

The best way would be for the moderators to be able to flag a player as immune to timeouts...that way, players who have problems won't be able to be timed out, players that are simply slow will be able to be timed out, and the moderators won't have to monitor several dozen games.

This was the way the Swiss worked - however it did (as suggested by Artanis) take up a lot of time - there is no perfect solution unfortunately - maybe next time I will have to run two tournaments - one for people who are intolerant and one for people who are tolerant. Mrakobes can play himself.

noticed that u highlighted the highest scores in each group. Is the winner determined by whoever has the highest total wins across all matches, or the highest total wins in a match?

The highlighted scores indicate matches which have been won.

A win scores 3 points, a draw 1 point and a loss 0 points.

But numbers you wrote next to team names are numbers of won games not points :) But it changes nothing in highliting - if any team won 10 games in a match then this team is a winner of the match ...

While what you say is true - I was actually referring to the number of points your team gets for winning/drawing/losing a match.

If all remaining games are draws . . .

Group 1
Russia 9
GB 6
World 3
101 0

Group 2
USA1 12
Pizza 9
Euro1 6
Euro2 3
13 0

Meaning Russia v Pizza & USA1 v GB in the semis.

I'll also be timing out vojvoda_kebos if I don't hear something by tomorrow. Game is 5 days expired now.

Guys, I'm going to be away on holiday Monday and Tuesday of next week so please don't time me out. I'll try and play all my turns before I leave on Sunday, but there is something strange happening and I have to repair my waiting games to recieve the next turn. Is this normal for MAN or is something screwy? I takes quite a while to restore them all individually on my poxy dial-up!

p.s. I'm WarlordRickGizmo in disguise

I've had that happen every once in a while, but certainly nowhere near all incoming turns :-?
