Just a few quick thoughts:
1. Being registered online does not mean that the person plays the game constantly. I often check the game status, but have very little time to actually play.

2. Taking turns in a game that is basicaly won is a LOT easier than in a game where you have to figure out how to get out of the mess, so naturally it will take longer ;) Also, when I only have 15min before work, I can't really deal with a really complicated situation on a big planet, but I can squeeze in a quick turn on a little planet.

3. I think 4 weeks is a good enough compromise for now, until we get a more flexible limits (I still think average turn time is what's mostly important)

4. Maybe there should be a separate Blitz Clan War - for people that have time to do a few turns in a few games a day

5. Have fun, make friends, it's only a game ;)

I'm not sure the 4 week rule will work (even though it is better than what we have now) since a player can take a quick lead because of a good setup and stall it till the time out. This will make a lot of games go to the judges. Personally, I would like to see games that go to the 4 week period be declared in favor of the person that went fastest unless there is a very clear winner in the game. This would incentivise fast play. The question is, can you tell who is fastest?

I agree with all your points Madjazz, especially about it being easier to take turns where you are winning:)

No, we can't tell who was fastest. We can make a pretty good guess, but not objectively enough to decide a match on.

Since the adjudication is by request, and not mandatory, if we get sent a replay that's too close to call, we'll just make the two keep playing until there is a winner (or until we get a replay that has a clear winner).

This is true. Logging on to the website or getting timed out in a game will also show you as having been online.

This is the sort of thing that we're designing the wars for: making it easy to just whip up another war for anybody who wants one.

Alright, I've rolled on the war week, so everybody has more money to spend and can move their Units again.

Antonio, I sent the notification email to you because nobody else has been named as the captain of RotM-Orion.

Update: I've been alerted to a mistake I made with the website. I forgot to upload the new data file with how much cash each clan had, so it looked like nobody got any money. This has now been fixed, and the website now shows the correct amount.

I've implemented all the orders I receieved and started the battles. Some notable actions:

1) RotM sent MadJazz to attack the lightly-defended Orion sector, only for him to run into 7 reinforcing NWO units.
2) NWO took sector SW7 from RotM without a fight

I've rolled on the war week, so everybody has more cash and can move their units some more. Orders are due on Wednesday at 5pm GMT.

Question: 2 attackers, 1 defender. One of the attackers wins his battle. Other battle will continue to go on until turns are greater than the finished battle. Shouldn't the attacker that already finished his battle be able to move on before the other battle finishes? Example: Orion SE1, I have finished my battle with Antonio been sitting there for a week, will sit there for another week waiting for the other battle between Silicor and Antonio to reach turn 11 or end. Should I be able to move before then?

That's a good point. I'll bring it up with the other moderators to see if we can come up with something.

It seems that I emailed a new rule to the clan leaders, but didn't post it on the forum, so here goes:

I implemented a soft cap on overall game time. Once a game hits 4 weeks, either player can send a replay to clanwar@gmail.com for adjudication. Note that this does NOT guarantee victory, only that I'll take a look at it.

Still-running games that are past 28 days old:
44107: Antonio Manero vs. Silicor
44095: JOCAMP vs. Antonio Manero

I have no longer the will to play in this clan war. Therefore I quit. I think that the other clan members can lead the clan furter without my help. Thanks for letting me enjoy till here and good luck.

*Is wondering why the game between Silicor and Antonio was even mentioned since the system should be under our control.*

I also seem to remember you asking him if he would continue the games with my clan mates and him saying no and that he would end the games. Please excuse me if I come across as being rude, but I haven't been in a very great mood lately.

*shrug* I just went and listed the games that were still going that were old enough, I didn't look to see whether they still mattered.

It was a few weeks ago.

I've implemented the orders for this week and started the battles, and have recalculated players' base costs due to NWO adding two new players to their roster.
