Post subject:  Balance Calculation (yet again)

I appreciate you trying to answer the question, but it wasn't answered.

How, exactly, is balance calculated?

I made a guess from your comments.

You said:

Full Control is calculated as the sum of all 'Secret Army' values in the following countries:

1 ) under your control
2) your undisclosed Secret Allies
3) with control in dispute (contributes half of its 'Secret Army' value)

The term "Full Control" does not really make much sense. Ah, perhaps you mean "Control Total".

Let us call the Control Total for player 1 CT1. The Control Total for player 2 shall be called CT2.

Let us assume that CT1 >= CT2 (player 1 is ahead or tied).

You said "100% means that full control is greater by 3 times". This is a bit vague, but the closest I can come to translating it is that you said:

100% balance means: CT1 - CT2 = 3 * CT2.

The expression "greater by" implies a subtraction.

I suspect what you actually meant is that 100% balance means that the control total for the winning player is 3 times the control total for the losing player.

Let us guess this is what you meant:

100% balance means: CT1 = 3 * CT2.
0% balance means: CT1 = CT2.

From these I concocted the formula: balance = ((CT1/CT2) - 1) * 50.

If CT1 = CT2, then balance = (1-1)*50 = 0.

If CT1/CT2 = 3, then balance = (3-1)*50 = 100.

This formula generates the two balance values that you commented on (0% and 100%).

However, this formula does not work. I have used it to calculate balance. The value does not match what the game reports.

Here are some game examples:

Player 1 Control Total: 20
Player 2 Control Total: 12
balance for player 1: 26%

Player 1 Control Total: 24
Player 2 Control Total: 8
balance for player 1: 80%

Can you please show the calculations with this data? In other words, show how a value of 26% is obtained from 20 and 12.

Explain what you meant by "100% means that full control is greater by 3 times" with a formula using the variables CT1 and CT2.

Thanks!

CT1=3*CT2 is equal to 100% Balance
CT1=CT2 is equali to 0% Balance
CT1=CT2/3 is equal to -100% Balance
