I saw something in the interview (see news) about it, but that's the first time I've seen it described. Is there any further information on what this feature is intended to be?

It will be Clan War in new format. Probably, all players with subscription could take part in it, including players without Clan's membership. Tournament should be integrated in MAN2 without using browser.

Any new info on this? Is it long time before MAN2 exits beta-stage?

Can someone describe just what the clan wars are and just what a clan is and does? There are some of us that would like to start a clan, have not been in one before, and would like some info on this.
thanks

I'm wondering more on how the clanwars will work..
Let's say a 2x2 battle..

First team 1, player 1,
second team 2, player 2,
3th team 1, player 2
4th team 2, player 2 etc

I can imagine that giving problems, if you see your teammate screwing up your plans :) But I don't know how the clanwars in MAN worked, so just a thought..

Furthermore, I can imagine when the top 5 of players decide to form a clan, it will be hard for a clan with less skills to play against them..
If there's a rotating system in wich clans you have to battle against, then I see no problem, but if you can choose freely wich clan you want to battle, I can see it happen no one challenges the number 1 clan.. and the last clan gets challenges all the time :)
When the clan points also work with the system MAN2 uses for score (glicko?) then this will be less a problem too ofcourse..

Ok reading this was a waste of your time I guess? :D

I donґt get it.
BTW my clan would chalenge the best clan, just because its not a bad thing to lose against it but its great if you win, sometimes you just gotta take risks.

True, I don't go away challenges against the best players neither, you can learn a lot of moves from them..

What I ment was something like this
in a 2x2 battle ..
first round : player 1 from team 1
second round : player 1 from team 2
3th round : player 2 from team 1
4th round : player 2 from team 2

Actually, Clan Wars for MA/MAN were quite complex beasts, and went through a couple iterations. In short, they were almost a game on top of a game, as your clan had to make strategic decisions on a galactic scale that determined what individual games you would play. You can see the clan war website link in my signature for more details of how it worked.

I have no idea how they will work in MAN2 though, they won't tell me :D

One great aspect of the old clan wars was that players with lower ratings were hadicaped by their units costing less. This makes it advantageous to have a clan with players of all ranks. Otherwise, clans can get snobbish and exclude lower ranked players instead of being inclusive and raising players up. Regardless of how clan wars will work, a mechanism like this should be included.
