Are there plans for repairing damaged units? I can't see a real downside (other than the coding time, tutorial, and AI (hah trivial :P) to such a feature. Perhaps engineering units, or even 2 types which can restore HP. 1 relatively cheap unit with a 2HP repair, and 1 expensive one with a 4HP or more repair function.

One may think it would lengthen games, but it may also lessen the number of combat units purchased from revenues, creating another set of strategies.

It would lengthen the game, and that IS the downside. Without adjusting anything else you're simplying turning the game into more of a meat grinder as lines can last longer.

The lack of repairs is one of the things that makes Massive Assault - no repairs, predictable damage, and secret allies.

It's kind of like a game of chess....stays the same(until another release)...and after a lot of repetition , study, one can get competitive with the big boys.
