Do a lot of real time games go on? Or are the vast majority pbem type drawn out affairs?

Obviously by real time I mean both players online submitting turns sequentially.

Sometimes is happens. But often a game takes very long to play through, a couple of hours maybe. Last week I played against an american 5 hours in a row, and we didn't finish the game. After that we played about one or two turns each day. But I haven't been able to play so much this week because I been working so much.

probably depends on the map size and who you are playing. I, for one, only play the med size or larger maps--just my personal perference--and because i do not think you can play intelligent turns on these maps in the 15 min that most people that want to play in real time choose, i almost never play a real time game. You must also understand that many of us have limited time for playing and, for us, one of the great things about this game is being able to play a move when we can work it into our free time. While this can draw a game out, you can have many games going at the same time and because of this, there is always a move that can be played. There are also many players, like yourself, that seek out the type of game you look for and if you chat with a few of them they can suggest others that also want the "real time game"
