One more comment about format of games:
All tournament's battles will be created as rating games, with normal allies density, infinity in-game limit, 10 turns of revenue and extended unit's set.

Is this being played with Chess Clock?
If so, I need to be removed from the list.
I would hate to miss out on the fun, but with a chess clock, the element of fun starts to evaporate.
I have too many life-elements for a chess-clock stresser.
M.C. everyone~! :D

Rextrent: You are on the game a lot - you will have plenty of time to make your moves. (As long as you don't start too many games with off tournament players).

Its only groups of 9 or so - that makes 8 games - and on small maps - if you make 1 move a day (and your opponent makes his moves 8 hours later) then you will get at least 21 turns in. That should be heaps on small maps (most maps)

Personally - if we can make it a bit more time friendly (ie 3 weeks) (for Rexand others (me included) who are time poor) then the tournament will be worth more as there will be more quality players.

Last tournament - Morn, CaptX, ShodowD, Storm440 and Placid all pulled out or didn't enter - thats half the top 10. The tournament is meaningless (to me) if those guys are not playing.

I know that some players will finish within 1/2 the time and then have to wait - but there are plenty of other games OFF tournament that they can play.

There is no rush - the game is not going anywhere.

well - thats my say on the matter - I will play either way - but might have to pull out if the going gets too tough (time wise that is).

I just don't believe in the chess clock!
It spells trouble for peeps like me.
Here's my big but: It's only a diversion and I'm in it for fun.
My rating will probably not climb anyway.
Losing a game due to time restrictions is unrighteous. 8)

I hope you play - and I hope that the time does not sneek up on you. I think on small maps you should be fine.

All players has been seeded into groups for preliminary round. You can see results here:
http://massiveassaultnetwork.com/man2/m ... ament_id=7

Since we have 17-18 players in each group for this round (during next rounds each group will consist of 9 players), we have changed time-limit for the battles, so this round will last for 3 weeks of chess clock time (42 days).

Why is Anubis the last map again.

It was the last map in the previous tournament. :(

I vote that we make the last round worht double points and that we play on a bigger map and play for 4 week chess clock. :)

Who agrees?I will make a poll to see what the majority thinks

Is there any evidence that the majority opinion makes any difference to the decisions made?
I would like to think so, but I'm not so sure.
This is not merely rhetoric, but I would like to have a reply from the powers that be.
See you there! :)

I agree!!. I don't like this small maps where a bad layout makes you lost the game almost for sure. And sincerely, I think that 2 week chess clock is few time to play normally. You can't mantain this frequency during all the year. Why don't make rounds of 3 weeks?

Post subject:  Points for each game won?

Hi!

I am in group H. The tournament site shows me as having won seven games, but only 15 points. Not that I am going to be the leader in my group <g>, but just curious why I don't have 21 points?

the points are added up only once your opponent opens his last turn and then the game is registered as a win.

The number of wins is added up as soon as you win (and the turn is sent to your opponent)

Dont worry - the points will catch up soon

After 3 weeks from the beginning, more than 1000 battles of the preliminary round were finished.
Some players have finished all their games.
The following players have won all battles and will play in the first group in the next round:
Group E - Tiger
Group G - AHgpeu

Alliance is leader in the Group A, but Rocklizard hasn’t lost battle too.
In the Group B two very good players still hasn’t lost any game: Tywer and Rimus, probably, winner in their match will play in the first group.
Morn in the Group D has 45 points after 15 games (2 games are unfinished).
ANDORIANS in the Group E take the second place with 16 victories.
In the Group H 3 players has 42 points, but by accounting results of battles between these players storm440 has advantage.
In the Group I Iskabis and Pitor has 42 points after 15 battles. Iskabis has advantage, because of he won battle with Pitor, but both players still has one more game.
