1 problem with playing the same map 4 times with each sides starting in the same places is that knowing where your opponent will be starting, means you can plan ahead with your start. Also means there isn't much point holding back allies.

Humm until i reached my final set of battles which were in a different starting position?

Why do you mean, Tiger? I am 12th of all players? :) But I haven't won anything, really! How come I have points (even 1 point) if I didn't win? :)

P.S. But still, do not take them from me

You have 12 point (not 12th place) because of you've finished some battles.
MA server give points not only for victory.

Here is a table, which defines score will get looser and winner depending on looser rank:

LOOSER RANK / LOOSER SCORE / WINNER SCORE
Conscript / 1 / 4
Private / 2 / 8
Corporal / 3 / 12
Sergeant / 4 / 16
Lieutenant / 5 / 20
Captain / 6 / 24
Major / 7 / 28
Colonel / 8 / 32
General / 9 / 36
Marshal / 10 / 40

Third group - probably Maelstorm will win
Fourth group - btw why i see there there are only 5 players not six? not sure..
Fifth group - Rocklizard will win definitely
Sixth group - no idea....
Seventh group -no idea.Coffedragon has more experience but Khanivore plays good too.

There are 43 players and 8 pools (3x6, 5x5). The toss up procedure was automatic, so I didn't want change anything.

Tiger,

I'm being sent out of town on business, returning around midnight on the 22nd, Eastern Standard Time (GMT -5h). I may be unable to get some free time on my computer until the evening of the 23rd.

I had thought that this tournement wasn't starting until the 20th, and as such I wouldn't default on the opening move, but if players are already sending moves, then the 3 day clock may expire before I have a chance to respond.

If you could see your way clear to allowing me a little grace on this opening move, I promise not to hold up the tournement. Normally I'm a speed player - you can ask Mrakobes, I don't think any of our games have lasted more than a week.

Don't worry about this delay. I've created all battles today just because of all previous procedures was finished and I thought that players could start their battles.
Rules about 3 days don't start work until official date (January, 20) and, of course, I understand that players could be very busy.

Hey, I plan to give MortonHQ a good run for his money! 8)

Looking forward to some nice battles, can't wait to start my turns later on today when I get home from work.

On another note, I'll be on vacation from Feb12th-15th, so if I'm still in the tournament then (and I sure hope I am), then my turns will be delayed just for those 4 days. . .

ooooh, tough luck Wasabe. There but for the Grace of God...

Mrakobes, for the 8th pool, I like mgrosh to do well.
True, he's one of the only 2 I've played against in that pool, but he's tough.

Hello to all my opponents in group #3!

I will not be able to make turns till tomorrow - have some problems with the game.

Cheers,

Ah, I like the View Games feature. Very cool.

Will replays be available after each match or only after the tournament is complete?

just wanted to say the same- the View Games feature is very useful.Make so easy to bash people who delay turns :P
just wondering will it ever be possible to implement such a feature for ALL games?

I too have games where both sides have exactly the same starting positions in the games.

I did not notice until the second turn (I didn't disclose in both games against him back to back), but I think my opponent did ... his tactics made use of this in both games from my point of view. (maybe, or just a very good disclosure! :) )

Not a good way to start ... in fact, not very fun at all considering ... I'll wait to hear why this happens before continuing. I thought two games against each opponent on the same map would be two random games on each map, not exactly the same. I'd have started very differently.

people who spotted that it is just the same start in most of their fights from both sides have taken advantage of it and hold an unfair advantage. Should have been 1 random map per opponent, with each person playing say green on map 1 vs player 1 and say red on map 1 vs player 3, so that they wouldn't know which of the 2 games matched

I'll discuss this problem with programmer and I hope to reply something tomorrow.
