| Post subject: | Choppy game play and freezes |
I'm playing the trial version and it is a lot of fun... ...until I get to the world war scenario. At somepoint in the scenario (usually after a few turns) the game runs choppy and slow. I have 64M VideoCard, 356M Ram and a gig processor. What gives? I downloaded the patch, but the problem persists. I've read many posts with similar complaints. It's a shame, I love the game, but I won't pay money for something that runs poorly. Anybody got any tips? Inando |

somethign extra i recently brought an athlon 3000 64 with some newer graphics card etc and i find that after i've done about 6-10 turns the game runs very slowly. Once i quit back to windows i can restart the game and it runs fine again for 6-10 turns. |

Some things you may want to try are reducing your graphics options. perhaps the v-sync, or detail settings. I'm running a 256MB video card with absolutely no problems at all, regardless of how maxed out my graphic options are. Despite what others will say, the game is less cpu/ram intensive and relies more on the capabilities of the video card. Other than that, I'd make sure that the system is completely up to date with the latest drivers for your video card, sound card, and Operating system. Another thing to check is the system resources... Are they set to give everything to the game/program/application that you are running, or are the resources set to reserve more for background tasks. |

sir if you zoom in a little the speed problems disappear, i only notice choppy at high elevations.. or you can do the following just to be sure. sir, lets try to address your problem 1 step at a time. 1. veryify that your downloading from the site, www.massiveassaultnetwork.com and not the other sites with the outdated software. 2. download the current 96 meg version. 3. download the patch... www.massiveassaultnetwork.com/download.php current version .211 4. if you are playing trial and not yet a subscriber, then stop here. play the game. if you have paid, continue to step 5. 5. download the m.a.n. map pack, www.massiveassaultnetwork.com/download.php 5.(A) goto the options, and turn everything off, and set the video options to its lowest setting. 6. connect, and then to get rid of the trial user screen, use the restore feature. be sure to input your user name and password. 7. play the game. 8. when you get a bug, goto the http://www.massiveassaultnetwork.com/support.php web site and then follow the directions listed on the site. and yes ive used them myself. 9. be sure to copy your file ma.log from the massive assaul network folder on your computer to your desktop, so that you can find it easiier when you need to upload to the web page. 10. be sure to include in the addition information your system specs. 11. be patiencent, someone is interested in why it doesnt work on your machine, and if i can play this on a 5 year old laptop, then you will be ok too. 12, see you in game. 13. fyi i uninstall and delete the game off my machine every 3 weeks, just to be sure that i know what im talking about when i tell people how to install the game, i have encounterd just about every error you can find, and a few you cant, i have installed the game 10 ways from sunday, and it still works. 14 see ya in game |
