I still don't see why every clan needs to touch every other one. If we have 7 clans and effectively 6 fronts for each clan, politics will win the day, not prowess in the game or good teamwork. A clan that is both weak in making deals and weak in playing will die a horrible death if every clan met every other clan. That would probably include any new clan that is added, as they don't have skills or experience with the way the clan politics work. It seems so much better to me that new clans start with only a couple fronts, so they can learn the game.
I can see how wormholes could be useful if linked with something similar to the current system, because yes, you can attack other clans not nearby, but through a very narrow point.
