While the real competition is in the top divisions, there are some folks that are stuck in the lower divisions (because of doing crappy or missing the prelim round) and are doing their best to show that they are the best of the worst MAN 2 players

To qualify a player must have started in Division 8 or lower (i.e. will probably never even get a chance at the top division) and must finish 1st or 2nd every round of the tournament...the current players that qualify:

dolbaker (2nd Div 8; 1st Div 7) - Currently 5-0 in Div 6 (Overall: 19-2)

Legacy (1st Div 10; 1st Div 9) - Currently 5-0 in Div 8 (Overall: 21-0)
AAA Nut (2nd Div 10; 2nd Div 9) - Currently 3-2 in Div 8 (Overall: 15-6)

Detroit (1st Div 12; 1st Div 11) - Currently 6-0 in Div 9 (Overall: 21-1)

comrat (1st Div 14; 1st Div 13) - Currently 5-2 in Div 11 (Overall: 22-3)
1_Ganondorf (1st Div 15; 1st Div 14) - Currently 6-1 Div 11 (Overall: 26-1)
Azure (2nd Div 16; 2nd Div 14) - Currently 8-0 Div 11 (Overall: 25-3)

With 3 coaches in Division 11, one will be dropping from the list. AAA Nut is also in trouble so far. So that would leave 5-6 coaches. With special congrats to Legacy - the only player still undefeated in the tournament (I think) - and 1_Ganondorf has the most wins of anyone in the tournament (thanks to playing 10 games in first two rounds and winning all 20 of them). Anyway, as most people focus on the top few divisions - there are some good coaches in the lower divisions and it is great fun

I lost most of the games in the prelimary round as I had no time to play that round. And you are right, I have calculated that even if I keep winning all, I cant get into the top division.

So the coaches to win their 3rd straight promotion:

1. dolbaker (2nd Div 8; 1st Div 7; 1st Div 6) - advances to Division 5

2. Legacy (1st Div 10; 1st Div 9; 1st Div 8 ) - currently 24-0 and advances to Division 7

3. Detroit (1st Div 12; 1st Div 11; 1st Div 9) - third straight first place finish

4. 1_Ganondorf (1st Div 15; 1st Div 14; 2nd Div 11) - currently 26-1, with only loss to Azure

5. Azure (2nd Div 16; 2nd Div 14; 1st Div 11) - several lucky wins gives promotion again

Coaches still with a chance to advance:
AAA Nut (2nd Div 10; 2nd Div 9) - Still fighting for possible 2nd place finish...

Coaches that failed to win their 3rd straight promotion:
Comrat (3rd place finish behind 1_Ganondorf and Azure)

Don't worry, the next round I will have probably loose a few games, the opponents are getting tougher.

Onto Round 4...with 5 players fighting for their 4th straight promotion:

--> 2 + 10.57 + 11 = 23.57 points

2. Legacy (1st Div 10; 1st Div 9; 1st Div 8; currently in Div 7)
--> 1.8 + 10 + 10.25 = 22.05 points

3. Detroit (1st Div 12; 1st Div 11; 1st Div 9; currently in Div 8 )
--> 1.5 + 9.63 + 10 = 21.14 points

4. 1_Ganondorf (1st Div 15; 1st Div 14; 2nd Div 11; currently in Div 10)
--> 1.46 + 11.57 + 9.45 = 22.49 points

5. Azure (2nd Div 16; 2nd Div 14; 1st Div 11; currently in Div 10)
--> 1.25 + 11.43 + 9.63 = 22.31 points

I calculated points based on the tournament rules to the best of my knowledge. Based on the fact that 1_Gannondorf and Azure won promotion in division with 11 players instead of 9, they got a bonus of 10 points for the second round instead of 8. Thus that is why they are actually ahead in points compared to Legacy and Detroit.

So any bets on how many of the above five will win promotion this round?

Round 4 is chugging along and a quick update...

1. dolbaker (currently in Div 5)
- Has 2 wins and 1 loss so far - is in a tough fight for promotion so far.

2. Legacy (currently in Div 7)
- All 8 games are still in progress...will he suffer his first loss this round?

3. Detroit (currently in Div 8 )
- Continues to cruise along with another 2 wins and no losses so far.

4. 1_Ganondorf (currently in Div 10)
- Picked up a loss to Azure, but 1 win and is on track to finish 2nd and gain promotion.

5. Azure (currently in Div 10)
- Picked up 4 wins so far, on track to finish 1st in division and gain promotion.

Well, it's official. Also this round I did not loose a single game.

However 1_Paco was very close to beating me, but he timed out.... My compliments.
