For AI I agree that timer should default to infinity. Don't know why you would want to do it any other way against AI.

For normal play, I would agree to default it to infinity if we had better chess clock style timing so you really could play a quick game. Otherwise I'd still default it to something like 15 minutes, depending on the size of map.

Infinite default is best for all games, all maps. New players will appreciate the time to figure the game out, and veterans will be glad the default errs on the safe side. Those who want to play MAN 2 with speed will use the new time limit option, but they can still live with it if they accidentally accept a game with an infinite time limit - they can still play fast if they so choose. But those who like to take their time to think carefully about every move, or are still figuring the game out, or like to leave the computer in the middle of a turn and come back to it hours later, etc. will all be in a bind if they unwittingly dispense/accept a challenge where it is a timed default.

I certainly hope that if people have unique views on this subject they would post them. The poll gives some raw data, but without a resulting discussion it wouldn't seem to help the developers much.

Making the default a limiting and annoying part of the game is simply a mistake, nothing wrong with that, but hopefully mistakes are addressed and amended.
Forcing every player into a stressed-out, hard-to-play game is, in this case, a contradiction , because most current and potential players will not find this Fun or Enjoyable.
MAN is not where I clock in for 8-10 hours of work. It is my leisure time.
It is my diversion.
The more I consider this case, the hotter I get, because it really doesn't make sense to make any limit a default....THAT IS THE POINT, dear player, developer and support person.

Are you saying that this POLL is merely a pasttime for another bored pc user?....and that the makers are going to do what they want regardless of what the consuming public wants?
I really don't need to see results of the poll, which already shows an overwhelming tilt in the right direction. I know what should be done here.
A default setting is not something to be taken so lightly. I love this game but this problem is not lovable.
