Whenever I click on the 'SKIP' option, if there is a plane bombarding something the game stops and I have to kill it. It also happens sometimes even when there is no plane animation.

PS. I have all the patches installed and during the game everything works fine.

this is a known bug, there was a thread on it on there somewhere started by me called problems with map/patch. Dev's say it'll be fixed in the next patch.
