Now that the new patch has brought the Mac version of MA up to speed with the current PC code, it should be possible to play on Brimstone, correct?

If so, how do I properly install the additional content package linked above? For some reason, after putting these files where I'm guessing they ought to go, trying to start a WW on Brimstone still crashes MA. Note: In the package, the files are for "Islands10," not "Islands8." I only mention this because VaNO refers to 8 instead of 10 in the above post concerning deleting Brimstone, which doesn't match what is in the package.

You can only play maps that came with MA, AFAIK.

I'm sure the 1st extra map was available for MA too (donno if it'll work on mac versions tho)

Yeah, there is working extra map for MA (Brimstone if I remember right) but I don't know eitehr if it works on Mac.

Works on my PC, tho.

Oh.. Actually I think both Brimstone and Emerald is extra maps for MA.

In the past, Brimstone could not be used on Macs due to the Mac version using an old map file type (see page one of this thread). Yet since the update released yesterday purportedly brings the Mac version up to speed with the current PC code, I'm assuming the map file types were brought up to date as well. But for some reason, I can't install this map. I might be doing something wrong.

It's hard to do something wrong 'cause the only thing you need to do is to copy the map file to all other maps ('maps' folder)

If you doubt install the map in any place (if it's possible), then copy the file to maps folder of your MA installation.

VP hasn't updated the map file types, so that is why I couldn't get Brimstone to work. Not sure if they are even planning on doing this, since it would require "many changes." :-/

at the risk of sounding like a total idiot:

I am a mac user. I have the completely updated massive assault and i have downloaded the additional content. how do I install it? Since MA exists only as an application without folders on a mac, and I can't seem to drag the stuff onto it as with some other games, I am completely at a loss as to how to actually make it all work. The best i could think of doing is storing all the additional content in the same folder, but that clearly doesn't work.
